Dad bods have recently been the main topic for discussion in the fitness domain. It’s a real thing, and men are struggling to control it. There are not many dads left who are taking care of a child and taking care of their bodies simultaneously.
Whether you’re a parent of a toddler or a teenager, balancing your health while caring for them at the same time is never easy. The amount of responsibilities on a parent’s shoulder prevents them from taking time for themselves. There is no debate here that parents do need to stay fit, and by doing so, they also set a good example for their kids.
While there are many reasons to stay fit, we are currently focused on how men can prevent dad bods and find time to run. We have a few helpful suggestions for you that might be of great help.
1. Get a Jogging Stroller
Yes, we know, running with a stroller is a little harder, but at least you have your little devil insight. You will not always be worried about getting back home early and do what dads are supposed to do.
If you have a little kid who weighs lighter than 70 pounds, you can easily push them around – all you need to do is buy a jogging stroller. Trust us; it will be a lifesaver. This will help you bond with your baby, keep the fresh air coming, and also keep you fit as ever.
2. Find a Gym with Childcare
Parents that have joined a gym that also offers a babysitting feature wish they had done it sooner. The amount of easy and relaxation it brings into a dad’s life is better than anyone can expect. Think for a second, why pay a fortune to a babysitter when you can get a cheaper option from your favorite gym? Not only may it be a cheaper option than hiring a babysitter, but you will have the ride to and from the gym with your children, talk about convenience at its best.
3. Divide Your Runs
You don’t necessarily have to run for 30 min all at once. You can do that in short intervals. For instance, rather than sprinting for 30 min straight, you can do 3 shorter runs for 10 mins.
Bottom Line
We know that regular exercise such as running is beneficial to both parents and their children, but it may feel almost impossible to find the time. Remember, your fitness is also important for your kids as well for the longer-run. Start taking time for yourself and turn your life around.
